    Dr. Kathi Heiber earned her degree in veterinary medicine from Ohio State University in 1979. Following graduation, Dr. Heiber spent several years caring for farm animals, horses, and pets. In 1984, she founded South Putnam Animal Hospital with Dr. Kosacz.

    DVM, DABVP, Medical Director

    Dr. Julie Fixman earned her DVM degree from Cornell University in 1998. Dr. Fixman is a compassionate and committed veterinarian, co-owner, and the Medical Director at South Putnam Animal Hospital. Dr. Fixman became Board Certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Canine and Feline Practice in 2007 after completing additional studies and examinations to achieve board certification. Her areas of professional interest include complex internal medicine conditions, soft-tissue surgery, and ultrasound. Dr. Fixman belongs to a number of professional organizations and is a former president of the Hudson Valley Veterinary Medical Society.

  • Nicole Martimucci

    DVM

    Dr. Nicole Martimucci obtained her degree in veterinary medicine from St. George's University in 2016, and completed her clinical training at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Martimucci dreamt of becoming a veterinarian since a young age. She began working in the veterinary field at the young age of fourteen years old as a veterinary assistant. She is passionate about high-quality animal medicine and has professional interests in internal medicine, surgery, and rabbit medicine.

  • Rebecca Gill

    DVM

    Dr. Rebecca Gill is the newest Associate Veterinarian with South Putnam Animal Hospital. Dr. Gill received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry in 2016 from SUNY Oswego. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Gill is Fear Free Certified and was awarded Purdue University’s Center of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion in Veterinary Medicine. Her areas of professional interest include dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. Growing up around animals of all kinds, Dr. Gill never doubted veterinary medicine was her passion. At a very young age, Dr. Gill aided a sickly Jack Russell that needed her help, and ever since that case she devoted her life to providing excellent quality of medicine and helping reinforce the animal-human bond. Born and raised in the Bronx, Dr. Gill now resides in Westchester, NY with her two domestic short hair cats, 3-year-old Zazzles and 1-year-old Sir Moo Moo. Outside of work, Dr. Gill enjoys animal and nature photography, cooking and baking, arts and crafts, reading and video games, and of course time with friends and family. Dr. Gill hopes her future consists of working with underprivileged schools to introduce and encourage children to explore science- especially veterinary medicine!
